The ARS Instructor Crib Notes (now retitled as the ARS Instructor Field Guide) is in it’s fourth year of production with over 5000 copies sold around the country and around the world. The 3rd Edition is in now available with over 100 additions, improvements, and changes.

So what makes this different
from other field guides?

  1. It’s not exactly a field guide, it’s a quick visual reference for instructors and a primer for training. Sure, it works great in the field too.

  2. Tons of photos and diagrams, so you can visually explain things in the field (or get a quick refresher yourself).

  3. True fold-flat design allows you to handle the book easily.

  4. It’s 4.5” x 7”, bigger than most but fits in a BDU pocket or turnout coat pocket with ease.

  5. Note pages for deployments. No need to have three or four guides in you gear pack, just this one in your pocket.

  6. Color-coded collapse diagrams. Easy to follow and easy to confirm it’s done right.

  7. The only guide with Extrication, HazMat, Medical, Rope, CSR, Trench, Tower, Water, and Collapse!

They are great books and we gave one to each of our recruits and I hope to continue to do that for every recruit class.

Honestly, I was stoked to see this resource was out there and to get the one I did as quick as I did was a surprise! All the instructor field guides I currently have are each discipline specific and about a decade or so old. So to have a streamlined version all in one place will be a great asset.

The color coded collapse section is perfect for finding the right pieces!
